Programs Goals and Objectives

The academic programs at DEEE should develop three main goals, which are:

  1.  Technical Capabilities 
  2.  Engineering Work Place Skills
  3.  Professional Outlook.

 Each of these goals includes a number of objectives, a brief summary of these objectives are listed below:

  1. To provide students with a strong foundation in the core and the fundamental knowledge of the traditional and evolving areas of electrical, electronics and computer engineering.
  2. To provide student with a strong foundation in mathematics and basic sciences, which is necessary for the understanding, application, and development of engineering principles.
  3. To develop the student ability to mathematically model, analyze engineering systems, conduct experiments; analyze data, and statistical analysis.
  4. To develop the student ability to use computers as tools in solving engineering problems
  5. To develop the studentsí skills for devising and evaluating solutions to close-ended and open-ended design problem systematically,
  6. To provide a suitable environment to encourages creativity and an excitement-driven outlook among students,
  7. To provide a suitable environment to develop the studentsí capabilities in professional attributes, including: communication skills, the art of self-learning, team work, ethics, and the essentials of quality management.
  8. To provide students with reasonable appreciation for other disciplines, (technical and non-technical), as well as local cultural issues, in order to deal with the impact of technology in a global and societal context.
